Accommodation in Yanngu pilot trip

There are so many pensions in Yanggu and Gangwon-do. This is because soldiers prefer pensions with a spacious yard where they can cook and relax with their families during their vacations. (There are always a lot of soldiers on vacation in Yanggu on weekends.) I wanted to show Korean pensions to foreigners, so I tried to book a pension this time too! Unfortunately, I had to book a hotel because so many applied! But don't be sad! It's really clean and there's a snack bar downstairs! It's a nice place!
The place we will stay for 3 days and 2 nights is called DMZ Doo Dream Center, which is operated by the Yanggu Forestry Association. The cafeteria on the first floor serves healthy meals made with farm produce from Yanggu, and we will have breakfast there.
There are rooms for two, three, and four! All rooms are equipped with shampoo, conditioner, and basic toiletries. But for the environment, it would be even better if you bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste, right? And there are towels, hair dryers, blankets, and pillows in the rooms.
However, there are no beds because it is Korean style. As you all know, Korea has an ondol culture. If you turn on the floor heating, the floor gets warmer. Many rural areas still have ondol floors without beds. People who always use beds have a hard time sleeping on the floor with only blankets, but over time, some people feel comfortable sleeping on the warm (or cool) floor! Shall we sleep without a bed for 2 nights?
The biggest advantage of this hotel in my opinion is the snack bar on the first floor!! Although the hotel is located in Yanggu-eup (the city called Myeong-dong in Yang-gu), the location is a bit far to find a supermarket. So, I'm going to keep stopping by the snack bar to get late night snacks.
When you meet me at the snack bar, don’t pretend you don't know and ask what kind of snacks are good!
So far that’s the introduction of DMZ Doo Dream Center!
See you all in Yanggu, Gangwon-do!!

  1. Seems we are going to have lots of fun on this trip. Eager to attend this trip. One request is that as an ex-pat (especially with a family of vegetarians that are unable to eat meat, fish, or seafood) help is needed not only at the snack bar but at every place. Anyways, the arrangements and the trip plans from the organizers (Inside Korea travel) are absolutely applaudable. See you all on the trip.
